WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF RABIED ANIMALS?
Rabies is a serious disease that can make a person's brain swell thus causing his or her death. That is why it is so important for someone who has been bitten by an animal to see a doctor, especially if that animal happens to be non domesticated such as a squirrel, raccoon, fox, or bat. All Mammals can get rabies, including household pets like dogs , cats and various types of rodent/weasel families. Regular vaccine checkups for a person's pet can help protect the pet, as well as, the owner from becoming infected with the virus.
